The premier stated in a statement sent by his office via email that “Iran can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon and the US has taken action to alleviate that threat.“”Stability in the Middle East is a priority, and the situation there is still unstable.
In order to resolve this problem diplomatically,we urge Iran to go back to the negotiating table,”he continued.
The US did not ask the British for help in the attack or to use its facility at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, according to Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds, who spoke on behalf of the government on Sky News.
The UK government was concerned about whether the US’s possible use of that site for strikes on Iran complied with international law.
According to Reynolds, the US did notify the UK ahead of time of the operation.
