US Hits Iran with B2s, Bunkers, Tomahawks : June 22, 2025
Now, everyone is watching to see how Tehran reacts. While a massive military campaign could cause the crisis to worsen, a poor reaction could make the Iranian government less popular.
By using precision strikes to destroy Tehran’s three main nuclear installations, the US has joined Israel in its war against Iran. Washington,DC has targeted the nuclear installations in Iran’s Fordow,Natanz, and Esfahan with advanced weapons, such as the deadly GBU-57 bunker busters and Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Iran has emphasized that there were “no signs” of contamination, while US President Donald Trump has declared that the three nuclear enrichment facilities have been “totally obliterated” in the narrative war that has ensued since the airstrikes. Now, everyone is watching to see how Tehran handles the crisis.
While a massive military campaign could cause the crisis to worsen, a poor reaction could make the Iranian government less popular.
Here are some examples of the US’s advanced military equipment.
6 B-2 Spirit Stealth Bombers: One of the most cutting-edge strategic weapons in the United States’ arsenal, B-2 bombers are capable of carrying out targeted attacks and thwarting extremely complex air defense systems. The US Air Force claims that the B-2’s “stealth” features and enormous firepower pose a threat to heavily fortified targets. “A combination of diminished infrared, acoustic, electromagnetic, optical, and radar signals contribute to the B-2’s low observability. It claims that these signatures make it challenging for the advanced defensive systems to identify, follow, and interact with the B-2.The B-2 bombers are the most costly military aircraft ever produced, costing over $2.1 billion each.
GBU-57 Bunker Busters: Although Trump did not specifically specify them, Fordow was probably the objective of the B-2 bombers that hit Iran using this heavy weaponry. The name “bunker busters” refers to the GBU-57, a huge 30,000-pound (about 13,600 kg) bomb that can go up to 200 feet deep before detonating. Its ability to penetrate the earth’s surface prior to detonation, which multiplies the impact exponentially, distinguishes it from other missiles or bombs.
The most potent bunker buster in the US arsenal is the GBU-57. It has a diameter of 2.6 feet and is almost 20 feet long. Boeing designed and tested this advanced weapon, which was created by the Munitions Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory. The United States bombed Iran today, reportedly using 12 such bombs.
Tomahawk Cruise Missiles: Reports state that thirty Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired by US submarines as part of their attacks on Iranian sites today. The Tomahawk is a long-range cruise missile that may be launched from US ships and submarines for deep-land attacks. The ability to switch targets while in flight via satellite communications is what makes these missiles so deadly. The US Navy claims that these missiles are able to loiter over a target region in order to respond to new targets and to report battle damage. This gives the military control room the ability to assist Special Operations Forces or launch long-range fixed targets.
Operation Desert Storm in 1991 was the first time Tomahawk missiles were used in combat. Additionally, they were employed in Operation Inherent Resolve in Syria and Operation Odyssey Dawn in Libya.According to reports, the US launched the Tomahawk missiles against its targets in Iran using submarines from its Los Angeles and Virginia fleet. The F-35A Lightning IIs and the F-22 Raptors
According to reports, the US provided air support for the operation with F-22 Raptors and F-35A Lightning jets. The US Air Force claims that the F-22 Raptor combines enhanced supportability with stealth, supercruise, maneuverability, and integrated avionics. It is intended to defeat adversaries attempting to thwart the US charge by quickly and widely projecting air dominance.
Today,F-35A Lightning fighters joined the F-22 Raptors. The US Air Force’s fifth-generation fighter boasts advanced stealth capabilities and is built to give the pilot unparalleled situational awareness and the capacity to execute precise strikes in all weather. The F-35A Lightning IIs can carry a payload of more than 8,000 kg and have a wingspan of 35 feet. They are 51 feet long.
