Stock market setup: Nifty 50 & global trends : June 09, 2025

Today’s Stock Market: For the Nifty-50 index, the 20-day SMA, which is at about 24,800, will act as a trend decider. With 25,100 serving as the immediate resistance, the bullish formation is likely to continue if it advances above this. A good breakout over 25,100 might push the index up to 25,400–25,500.

Stock Market Today: The benchmark Nifty-50 index closed the week ending June 6, 2025, at 25,003.0, up 1.0% week over week, primarily due to favorable domestic data. In the face of negative global indications, IT was a major loser, while Realty, Auto, and even Metals were among the other major gainers, and Bank Nifty also saw a 1.4% increase to 56,578.40 levels. Smart gains were made in the larger markets,as mid and small caps increased 2.8% to 4%.

Monday’s Trade Setup :
The 20-day SMA at 24,800 will serve as a trend decider level for the Nifty-50 index. Above this level,the bullish formation is probably going to continue,with 25,100 acting as the immediate resistance. According to Amol Athawale,VP-technical Research at Kotak Securities, a successful breakout over 25,100 might drive the market up to 25,400–25,500, while below 24,800,the market may retest the 24,500/80600 area.

According to Athawale,the Bank Nifty main support levels are between 56,000 and 55,500; above these,the upward trend may extend to 57,200–57,700.

International Markets and Prospects :
In the future, market players will look for further clues in important macroeconomic data. High-frequency indicators such as CPI inflation will be routinely tracked to evaluate demand trends and the central bank’s next move. Additionally, the development and sowing patterns of the monsoon will be monitored due to their impact on rural consumption.
