IPL2025: Following DC’s play against RCB,KL Rahul said he was secretly happy that Virat Kohli was dismissed before the game was over,preventing him from having to endure another snobbish “my ground” celebration in front of him.
Following their match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 27,Delhi Capitals player KL Rahul shared a humorous interaction with Virat Kohli. Rahul admitted in a post-match teasing that he was secretly happy that Kohli wasn’t at the crease to score the game-winning runs and didn’t get to reenact his well-known My ground celebration.

Rahul and Kohli were spotted giggling together after RCB victory over DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium,recalling their heated encounter at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.Rahul admitted that he had expressed gratitude to his DC teammates for preventing Kohli from celebrating in front of him this time after Kohli cheekily imitated his previous action.
As he laughed,Kohli acknowledged that he had considered having a similar celebration if he had won the game,but he assured everyone that it was all in good humor. Despite competitive periods during games, their humor highlighted their close relationship off the field.
There were some early snags in RCB’s pursuit of 163, but Kohli’s solid innings and Krunal Pandya’s explosive 73 off 47 balls saw them win by six wickets,their sixth straight away triumph of the season.
Even though Rahul and Kohli had a brief,heated altercation at the stumps during the game, their cordial post-match conversation made everything much better, demonstrating once more that the greatest rivalries in cricket are frequently accompanied by a great deal of camaraderie and respect.
