Some market watchers and investors may be unsure if trading will resume on Monday or if it will be a stock market holiday because Buddha Purnima 2025 is being observed nationwide on May 12, 2025, which is Monday of next week.

Investors lost over ₹2 lakh crore in a single session as the total market capitalization of BSE-listed companies fell to almost ₹416.8 lakh crore from ₹418.50 lakh crore in the previous session.
The BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 both experienced weekly declines of 1.30 and 1.40 percent,respectively, ending their three-week winning streaks.
