Keiichi Ono, Japan’s ambassador to India and Bhutan,pleased Indians on the internet by posting a now-viral picture of himself chowing down on litti chokha,a traditional Bihar dish. Ono,who is now visiting the state, posted about the experience on X (previously Twitter) on Monday. He called the traditional treat “world-famous” and said in Bhojpuri,”Gajab swad ba,” which means “Great taste.”

“Bihar,Namaste! had the opportunity to sample the renowned Litti Chokha – Gajab Swad Ba at last,”he wrote,adding a happy photo of himself enjoying the meal. He immediately gained popularity on the internet by speaking the local dialect, which made his message a touching example of cross-cultural understanding.
