Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced the ceasefire, claiming that Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) had started the negotiations when he visited India’s DGMO this afternoon. All military operations on land,in the air,and at sea will cease at 5:00 PM today,May 10,as agreed upon by both parties. On May 12,there will be another round of discussions at the DGMO level.

However,US President Donald Trump declared on his Truth Social platform that India and Pakistan had reached an agreement on a “full and immediate ceasefire” just before MEA was formally confirmed. He asserted that “a long night of talks mediated by the United States” led to the decision.

Although the ceasefire provides a little reprieve, both countries are still cautious; India has described the truce as “conditional” and is sticking to certain of its provisions, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.

Ceasefire Between India and Pakistan :
The agreement to stop all shooting and military operations between India and Pakistan was decided upon by both countries directly, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan took the initiative after speaking with his Indian counterpart earlier on Saturday. After this exchange, talks between the two parties resulted in a mutual understanding over the ceasefire. Additionally, the MEA emphasized that there are currently no plans to host discussions in any other locations or on any other concerns.

India has stated unequivocally that every Pakistani misstep has been handled with force and that any further escalation will be met with a forceful response. Future terrorist attacks will be viewed as “Acts of War” against India and will be dealt with appropriately.
