The stock market will open on Saturday, March 15. Earlier this month, on March 1, the NSE and BSE had a simulated trading session. Just testing and familiarization were the goals, and there was no margin or pay-in/pay-out obligation associated with the trades that came from the simulated trading.
Saturday,March 15 is the opening of the stock market. Unless otherwise noted, Indian financial markets are closed on weekends. The NSE and BSE were available for a simulated trading session on Saturday,March 1st,earlier this month. Apart from this,on Saturday,February 1,the markets were open because of the announcement of the Union Budget 2025–2026.
Market participants are notified by the NSE and BSE of any impending simulated trading sessions,which are typically held on Saturdays.

Will the NSE continue to be open for business on Saturday? Indeed. On Thursday,the top stock exchange announced that Saturday,March 15, 2025,would be the day of a simulated trading session.
In order to satisfy their regulatory obligations,members can opt to take part in either a mock trading session or a simulated environment. The stock exchange stated,”Trades resulting from this session shall not attract any obligation in terms of funds pay-in and/or payout.”
The updated NEAT adapter version and new ports relevant for the equities derivatives segment must be used by members,the NSE continued. Up until May 2, 2025, the previous NEAT Adapter application (version 1.0.19 for Windows Neat Adapter and version 1.0.19 for Linux Neat Adapter) will continue to function.
As of May 3, 2025 (mock), the new NEAT Adapter application (version 1.0.20 for Windows Neat Adapter and version 1.0.20 for Linux Neat Adapter) is required.
