Today’s stock market: Despite turbulence, the market continued to consolidate for the week ending May 23, 2025, as the benchmark Nifty-50 index concluded the week 0.7% lower at 24,853.15. Despite major gains in Realty, Metals, and Industrials, the Bank Nifty closed almost flat at 55,398.25. Among the main losses were IT,FMCG,and automobiles. Additionally,the Broader markets saw a slight decline at the close.

The short-term important support zones for the benchmark Nifty 50 index would be 24600 and 24450,while the bulls’ immediate resistance zone would be 25000. The market may rise to 25150–25500 if there is a successful breakout over 25000. However,the attitude might shift below 24450, according to Amol Athawale,VP-Technical Research at Kotak Securities:
He noted that the bank Nifty has a higher bottom support around 54575,and as long as it is trading above that level,the bullish trend is probably going to continue.
