Stock market holidays: By logging on to the BSE website and selecting the “Trading Holidays” option at the top, one can determine whether or not the Indian stock market is open on Monday.

April 2025 Stock Market Holidays :
People are encouraged to visit the BSE website,bseindia.com,and select the ‘Trading Holidays’ option at the top for further clarification. The list of stock market holidays for 2025 is displayed after selecting the ‘Trading Holidays’ option. Three stock market holidays in April 2025 are included in this list of trading holidays.
These three April 2025 stock market holidays are Good Friday on April 18, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14, and Shri Mahavir Jayanti on April 10. As a result, on Monday, April 14, 2025, and Friday, April 18, 2025, the Indian stock market will be closed.
Next week’s stock market holidays :
On Monday and Friday, trading on the NSE and the BSE will be suspended in accordance with the stock market holidays 2025 list. The Currency Derivatives Segments will not be open for trading on Monday, April 14, 2025, or Friday, April 18, 2025.
During the morning shift, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, trading in the Commodity Derivatives and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segments will be suspended. However, because Monday’s evening shift will still be open,trading will start up again at 5:00 PM. The Commodity Derivatives and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segments will not be open for morning or evening trade on Friday of next week.
Holidays for the Stock Market in 2025 :
There will be 14 trading holidays in 2024,based on the list of stock market holidays for 2025. The final trading holiday of these 14 stock market holidays was Majavir Jayanti on April 10,2025. There will be nine additional stock market holidays in 2025 after April 14,2025. One of these nine stock market holidays is Good Friday,which happens on April 18, 2025. In 2025,there will be eight trading holidays: Maharashtra Day on May 1,Independence Day on August 15,Ganesh Chaturthi on August 27,Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on October 2,and Diwali/Laxmi Pujan on October 21.
Diwali Balipratipada is on October 22, 2025; Prakash Gurpurb Sri Guru Nanak Dev is on November 5, 2025; and Christmas is on December 25, 2025.
The Indian stock market surged on Friday, following upbeat emotions following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 90-day halt to US tariffs recently imposed on its trading partners. The Nifty 50 index saw a 429-point intraday increase, opening at 22,695 and closing at 22,828, respectively. The BSE Sensex saw a 1310-point intraday rise during Friday’s trading session, opening higher at 74,835 and closing at 75,157. Similarly, Bank Nifty opened the day gapping higher at 50,634 and concluded at 50,995, gaining more than 750 points during Friday’s trading.
