New Delhi: On May 1,Ajay Devgn’s criminal thriller Raid 2 debuted in theaters to a mixed reception from critics and viewers. The movie made Rs 19.25 crore on its first day of release,but its earnings dropped to Rs 12 crore on Friday.
However, the movie saw a resurgence on Saturday, earning Rs 18 crore.
The movie has now made a total of Rs 49.25 crore in India, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. Over the first two days, it reportedly brought in Rs 40.5 crore worldwide.
Raid 2 is doing better than Ajay Devgn’s last film, Azaad, and is having a fairly steady run at the box office despite the current trend of poor performance.
But fewer people are seeing the movie. More than 350 events had been canceled by Saturday.There were 4,504 concerts on Saturday,down from 4,711 on Friday. On Saturday,the movie’s overall occupancy rate was 30.51%.
The greatest occupancy rate was 56% over 54 shows in Chennai,43.50% across 217 shows in Bengaluru,and 37.75% across 355 shows in Pune.While Delhi-NCR recorded 33.75% occupancy across 1,061 shows,Mumbai experienced 31.50% occupancy over 778 shows.
Raid 2,which was directed by Raj Kumar Gupta,also features Saurabh Shukla,Riteish Deshmukh,and Vaani Kapoor. T-Series and Panorama Studios are the film’s producers.
