Following the Ontario province’s decision to impose an electricity fee on three US counties,President Donald Trump referred to Canada as a “tariff abuser” on Monday.
Additionally,the US president asserted that his nation did not require Canadian energy.
Trump remarked, “Ontario just announced a 25% surcharge on ‘electricity,’ of all things,”asserting that the province was “not even allowed to do that.”
On his Truth Social platform, he also stated,”Canada has always violated tariffs, but the United States will no longer support Canada.”
The Republican president added that Canada’s automobiles,lumber,and electricity are no longer needed in the United States.
“We don’t need your Cars,we don’t need your Lumber,we don’t need your Energy,and very soon,you will find that out,” Trump stated.
Following the announcement by Ontario,Canada’s most populous province,of a 25% increase in electricity export taxes for about 1.5 million American consumers residing in Minnesota,New York,and Michigan,Trump made these comments. On Monday,the updated prices will go into effect.
“I’ll raise this fee without hesitation. Premier Doug Ford of Ontario had stated,”I will not hesitate to shut the electricity off completely if the United States escalates.”

According to AFP,since taking office,Trump has made numerous threats to invade Canada and has thrown bilateral trade, which is essential to the Canadian economy,into disarray with tariff policies that have taken many different turns.
