Atal Setu in Mumbai will be closed for 13 hours tonight because to the MMRDA marathon.

Traffic on alternate routes like Thane-Belapur Road and Sion-Panvel Highway is anticipated to increase as a result of the closure announced by MMRDA to accommodate a marathon event along Atal Setu, India’s longest sea bridge between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Sea Bridge, sometimes referred to as Atal Setu, will be closed to traffic for 13 hours on Saturday, January 15, from 11 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. The closure is necessary to allow for a marathon event that the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is hosting along the 21-kilometer-long Atal Setu, India’s longest sea bridge that connects Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

The Navi Mumbai Traffic Police has issued an official statement outlining the restrictions. According to the statement, commuters who utilize Atal Setu to get to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), Navi Mumbai, or Pune would need to take other routes during this time.

Authorities have warned travelers to anticipate delays due to heavy traffic on alternative routes via Thane-Belapur Road and Sion-Panvel Highway. According to the announcement, “traffic police and MMRDA officials will be deployed at key points during the temporary closure to manage diversions and guide commuters.”
