Al-Nassr chief: Ronaldo deal in progress : May 30, 2025
FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated last week that talks were in progress over Ronaldo participating in the June 14–July 13 competition in the United States, even if Al-Nassr did not qualify for the Club World Cup.

According to Fernando Hierro, the sporting director for the Saudi team, Al-Nassr is in talks with Cristiano Ronaldo about extending their contract, but they are up against competition from numerous teams hoping to sign the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
After Al-Nassr’s season-ending game at Al-Fateh on Monday, speculation about the 40-year-old Portuguese forward’s future grew after Ronaldo wrote on social media: “This chapter is over.” The narrative? It is still being written.

“Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr contract expires on June 30. Numerous clubs are interested in signing him,and we will try to extend his contract so he can stay with us,”Hierro said at a press conference.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated last week that talks were in progress over Ronaldo participating in the June 14–July 13 competition in the United States, even if Al-Nassr did not qualify for the Club World Cup.

Although Wydad Casablanca had been linked to a move for Ronaldo, a source close to the Moroccan team told Reuters last week that it was not in talks to sign him. FIFA has set up a unique transfer window for clubs to sign players for the event.

In consecutive Saudi Pro League seasons,Ronaldo was the league’s best scorer, and Hierro called him a pioneer in Saudi football.

According to Hierro,”Ronaldo’s presence from the beginning is a national project.” “Cristiano has allowed the world to play soccer in this nation.” That he had the guts to come here, remain here, and let the world know about the Saudi Arabian League is amazing.
