On its twentieth day of release, Salman Khan’s action-drama Sikandar has seen a sharp decline in box office receipts. The film began its fourth weekend at the box office,coinciding with the Good Friday holiday. Early projections,however,indicate that its collection will increase during the Easter weekend.

The movie reportedly made just Rs 6 lakh, which is among its lowest totals since its debut. According to Sacnilk, the film has made an estimated Rs 110.52 crore in its 20 days of release. Sikandar was first published with great anticipation and a respectable start, but during the last three weeks, the excitement has gradually waned.

Industry insiders attributed Sikandar’s sharp decline at the Bollywood box office to a number of reasons,one of which being the fierce competition from other recently released movies like Sunny Deol’s Jaat and Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2. On the same day,Jaat and Kesari chapter 2 made Rs 4.5 crore and Rs 7.5 crore,respectively.
The A.R. Murugadoss-directed action film is now Salman’s worst-performing picture at the box office.
Despite early expectations of a strong box office collection, the movie is currently nearing the conclusion of its theatrical run with declining box office numbers and low attendance.
