In addition to keeping the wedding low-key, the business magnate gave Rs 10,000 crore to a number of charitable causes, such as constructing infrastructure for skill development, healthcare, and education.

According to sources, only a handful of family members and friends were invited to the Jain-style wedding held in Shantigram.

They said no celebrities were invited.

On Saturday, Adani will host a celebration for its staff.

In a post on X, Adani stated, “Jeet and Diva tied the sacred knot of marriage today with the blessings of Almighty God.”

“I apologize for not being able to invite all of the well-wishers, even though we would have liked to, as it was a small and very private function.”

He asked for love and blessings for the newlyweds by sharing photos from the wedding.

The Rs 10,000 crore he pledged will be used to establish a network of high-quality, fairly priced K–12 schools, world-class medical facilities and hospitals, and advanced global skill courses with assured employability, according to those close to him.

Around 2:00 pm, the wedding celebrations began, and the customs of Gujarati and Jain culture were followed. Close friends and family were present. Politicians, corporate executives, diplomats, bureaucrats, movie stars, entertainers, and other celebrities were conspicuously absent.

While on a pilgrimage to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh for the Maha Kumbh, the tycoon had said last month that Jeet’s wedding will be a simple, traditional event without any pomp or well-known celebrities.

His statement, “It will be a very simple, traditional marriage… just like common people,” had sparked speculation of an extravagant wedding.

Following the wedding of rival billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son, Anant, there were reports before to the wedding that it would be another extravagant affair. “Definitely not!” was the millionaire’s response when asked if the wedding will be a “Maha Kumbh of celebrities.”

In recent days, there have been a lot of reports on social media that Bill Gates and Elon Musk would attend the wedding and that Taylor Swift might sing.

In a private ceremony held in Ahmedabad in March 2023, Jeet, 28, became engaged to Diva.

On social media, there were rumors that the one-day international cricket match between India and England at the Motera stadium had been rescheduled to make room for the wedding, which was anticipated to cost over Rs 10,000 crore and include 1,000 super cars, hundreds of private jets, and chefs from 58 different nations.

At Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam, Adani had remarked, “My upbringing and our way of doing things are that of a common person from the working class,” while his family was performing Ganga Aarti. Jeet is also present for the blessings of Ma Ganga. The wedding is going to be a simple, traditional family event.

In July of last year, the youngest son of Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, was married in front of a plethora of international celebrities, politicians, and business titans. Following four months of extravagant pre-marriage festivities that were attended by Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Anant Ambani married Radhika Merchant, both of whom were 29. In March 2024, pop sensation Rihanna gave a performance at a pre-wedding function.
