The BSE Midcap index slid 0.68 percent, while the Smallcap index dipped 0.35 percent, indicating that the mid- and small-cap indices did not perform well.
As the total market capitalization of BSE-listed companies fell to about ₹413 lakh crore from over ₹415 lakh crore in the previous session,investors lost almost ₹2 lakh crore in a single day as a result of the losses across categories.
