sparked a stir.
The video has sparked criticism and reaction after going popular on social media.
Following an outcry from the public, the Maharashtra Cyber Department filed a formal complaint against comedian Samay Raina, podcaster Allahbadia, and other artists for allegedly producing pornographic material on the India’s Got Latent YouTube.
The police officer claims that the Cyber Department has filed a case under the applicable provisions of the IT Act and requested that all 18 of the comedy show’s episodes be deleted. The Cyber Department discovered during its investigation that “vulgar and obscene” language was used in the program by participants and other show participants, including visitors.
Allahbadia and fellow YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, who was also on the panel, have received additional summonses from the Assam Police.
Guwahati Police and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma filed a formal complaint (FIR) against these five YouTubers and video providers on February 10 for “promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion.”
In a subsequent public apology, Allahbadia acknowledged his lack of discernment when he made the joke.
The show’s episodes were also removed off Samay Raina’s YouTube channel, which had received millions of views. Raina stated on social media that he will assist investigative authorities, but that the current events have been a little too much for him to take.
