Nifty 50 and Sensex close flat, as more than 200 equities fall to 52-week lows. — Ten major highlights in today’s stock market

On March 11, the indices of the Indian stock market, the Sensex and Nifty 50, closed flat but mixed. The Nifty 50 index ended the day up 38 points, or 0.17 percent, at 22,497.90, while the Sensex closed 13 points, or 0.02 percent, lower at 74,102.32.

On Tuesday, March 11, the benchmarks of the Indian stock market, the Sensex and Nifty 50, closed uneven as concerns about the effects of US President Donald Trump’s tariff policy and their economic ramifications grew.

 

In contrast to its previous close of 74,115.17, the Sensex opened at 73,743.88 and reached its intraday high and low of 74,195.17 and 73,663.60, respectively. The 30-share pack ended the day at 74,102.32,down 13 points,or 0.02 percent.

Stock market today

 

In contrast to its previous finish of 22,460.30, the Nifty 50 opened at 22,345.95 and reached its intraday high and low of 22,522.10 and 22,314.70,respectively. At 22,497.90,the benchmark index ended the day up 38 points, or 0.17 percent.

 

The mid- and small-cap sectors showed a mixed trend. As the BSE Midcap index increased by 0.72%,the midcap segment performed better. On the other hand,the BSE Smallcap index lost 0.70 percent.

 

Nifty 50 Stock Market

 

In the previous session,the total market capitalization (m-cap) of companies listed on the BSE increased to about 394.5 lakh crore from around ₹394 lakh crore.
